Kevin E. Burrows is the founder and Senior Pastor of Vision Worship Center, formally known as God Sent Christian Ministries in Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Burrows has been in ministry since the age of 18 years old. It was in 2001 that Kevin Burrows was called to pastor, at the age of 25, and held his first service on June 03, 2001 in the living room of his home.
Pastor Kevin E. Burrows grew up in church and was always fascinated with the preaching of God’s word, but it is his love for God, the desire to please Him and the passion that he has for people that propel him to teach the Word of God.
Pastor Burrows has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Ministry at the Ohio Christian University, which has helped to prepare him for ministry in many ways. His education has contributed to equipping him to meet many of the everyday needs of the people.
Pastor Burrows realizes that the anointing of God is absolutely necessary to function in the will of God and that education only adds to what God is already doing. The word expressly says in Hosea 4:6, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Making disciples is also a priority in his ministry. He teaches a series of ministry and leadership classes once a week, equipping and imparting wisdom into those who have answered the call to ministry. He believes that every minister should be equipped with tools to succeed in the ministry that they are called to.
Family is a significate part of Pastor Burrows’ life. He attests that family must be first in order to lead a successful ministry. He loves spending time with his wife, Co-Pastor Shervina Burrows, who works alongside him in ministry and his 3 daughters
ABOUT
VISION
Vision Worship Center (VWC) was founded in March of 2015 by Pastors Kevin and Shervina Burrows. Before Vision Worship Center, the church was formerly known as God Sent Christian Ministries. The name Vision Worship Center was chosen because the name describes what the ministry is all about and it embraces where the ministry is going. The Bible expressly says in Proverbs 29:18 that where there is no vision, the people perish. It is a Vision, a foresight of God's plan for us that should propel us to live the lives that He has called us to and to go into the earth and make disciples.
Vision Worship Center comprises several smaller ministries and outreaches that enable them to reach the lost in many ways and through many different avenues. Some of those ministries and outreaches are our Praise Team Ministry, our CD, and DVD ministry, and the Vision Impact outreach, which impacts the lives of others through random acts of kindness. Also, the ministry offers glimpses of Pastor Burrows' messages on the website and YouTube. We aim to reach the lost and broken by any means necessary.
Families are especially important to Pastors Kevin and Shervina and the current families of VWC because Satan aims to tear apart families and cause them to be dysfunctional, which allows the effects to trickle down to children for several generations. God ordained family from the foundation of the earth when he created Adam and Eve and then told them to be fruitful and multiply. Pastors Kevin and Shervina's vision for this ministry is to make every effort to build strong marriages and strong families within its communities and across the nations
TENANTS OF FAITH
The Scripture Inspired The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to men, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason.
The One True God The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, self-revealed “I AM”, and has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association, by simultaneously existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Man’s Fall and Redemption Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
THE SALVATION OF MAN
Conditions of Salvation
The Grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all men, through the preaching of repentance toward God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and being justified by grace, has become heir of God according to the hope of eternal life.
Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit.
Baptism in Water
The ordinance of baptism by burial with Christ should be observed (as commanded in the Scriptures) by all that have repented of their sins and in their hearts have believed on Christ as their Savior and Lord. In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have also been released to walk with him in newness of life.
The Lord’s Supper (Communion)
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing in a memorial to His suffering and death, and a prophecy of his second coming, and is enjoined to all believers ‘until He comes”.
The Promise of the Father
All believers should ardently expect and earnestly seek the Promise of the Father, which is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. With it comes the infilling power for life and service, and the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the Work of the ministry. This experience may be distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the New Birth.
Sanctification Process
By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, “By ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word.
The Church
The church is the holy Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Ministry
Divinely called and Scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) The edification of the Body of Christ.
Marriage
God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man and a woman that makes them one.
Divine Healing
Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers.
The Blessed Hope
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the church.
The Millennial Rain of Jesus
The revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, the salvation of the national Israel, and the millennial reign of Christ on the earth are Scriptural promises and our hope.
The Lake of Fire
The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
The New Heavens and New Earth
We, as promised in the Scriptures, look for a new heavens and new earth wherein righteousness dwells.
